Karen Salandy
Karen Salandy is a published and award-winning make-up artist with over 20 years of experience in the industry. She has worked for Givenchy amongst other well-known brands. Karen Salandy was the exclusive make-up artist to Mr. Fierce on ITV2's reality TV show Models, Mayhem and Misfits. Her work has graced Catwalks [LFW], Stage, Film, Music Videos and has been published in newspapers and magazines such as Elle, Pride, Black Hair & Beauty, the Voice Newspaper, the Flyer Newspaper to name a few. Her artistry has been admired on the faces of the every day woman to models, actors, singers and celebrities. Her clientele included Icons such as the late Princess Di, the late Naomi Sims and Cher. She counts training and working with Isabella Rosillini on her debut cosmetic line 'Manifesto' and with Naomi Sims as some of her many career highlights. Naomi was the first afro-american model to grace the cover of the American Vogue. Naomi was also the first ever model to launch her own make-up and skin care line. Karen held the position of account manager, head of make-up and was responsible for the launch of Sims brand whilst also training all representing make-up artists nation-wide. Having recently stepped down as directing head make-up artist & educator at Yana Cosmetics, Karen has now gone freelance. Karen holds the position of head make up artist to Miss Trinidad & Tobago since 2004. From December 2011 she is head make up artist to The Sporah Show and was head make up artist at Fashion Finest LWF off-schedule September 2011. Karen is the beauty columnist of BEFFTA Magazine. She has been nominated for the Beffta Awards in 2010 and 2011 and is the recipient of BEFFTAs Beauty Icon Award 2011. Karen Salandy is a Fashion Finest 2012 nominee. |
